YouTube streaming Bonnaroo music festival all weekend

first_imgIn the mood for some live tunes but don’t particularly want to venture out of your cave? Well, you’re in luck! Google is enabling your sedentary lifestyle by streaming the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in its entirety this weekend on YouTube. Also, it’s free. For those unaware, Bonnaroo is recognized as one of the great annual indie music festivals. Bonnaroo comes to you from Great Stage Park, a 700 square-mile park in Manchester, Tennessee. It’s an entire weekend of music and art with some well known bands including Radiohead, Ben Folds Five, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Phish. The kids still listen to this stuff, right? If that does not strike your fancy, there are nearly 50 acts performing at the show from a variety of genres. It’s not just indie rock; the festival stream will bring you some hip-hop, folk, and collaborative world music as well. Something for everyone. Just check out the YouTube page for the schedule. The stream will get underway today, Friday June 8 at 1PM CT, or 11AM PT and will continue all weekend long. The stream will be on the Bonnaroo YouTube page and there is already some preview content for you to get warmed up. YouTube is also celebrating the collaboration with Bonnaroo by posting playlists from some of the artists at the show, including Soja, the Punch Brothers, and Debo Band.Is it true altruism from Google? Well, there is going to be a Dell sponsorship tie-in, and I would not be surprised if there were some conveniently placed Google Play Music links floating around during the show. Still, free music is still free, and it’s the next best thing to braving the outdoors for a weekend.via Googlelast_img read more
