Twitter reaches 200 million users and 110 million tweets per day

first_imgWith Facebook featuring heavily in the spotlight this month (for good and bad reasons) you sometimes forget that there are other social network platforms around.Twitter, with its micro blogging service, has been quietly but steadily gaining registered users in the background. In fact, it appears that Twitter has now reached nearly 200 million registered users (mind you not all of these may be actively posting tweets), and that 110 million tweets per day are being posted as of the January 1.AdChoices广告Whilst it pales in comparison to the number of registered Facebook users it is still an impressive amount, especially as back in September of last year it had 160 million registered users and 95 million tweets per day.Twitter recently launched its service in Korean, which makes this its seventh language. Apparently the Korean people seem to love posting tweets. According to Twitter co-founder Evan Williams, who visited Seoul recently at a press conference, Twitter has seen 3,400% growth of Korean language tweets in 2010 alone, making this one of the fastest growing tweet languages in general.Read more at Forbeslast_img read more
