Nokia 9 to be released in Q3 2017, may cost Rs 44,999 in India

first_imgIconic phone manufacturer Nokia just staged what can arguably be called the comeback of the decade a few weeks ago by launching three Android powered smartphones and a re-incarnation of the legendary Nokia 3310. Nokia is now set to launch its flagship smartphone, dubbed the Nokia 9 which is expected to be packed to the gills with features such as an Iris Scanner, Carl Zeiss cameras and a QuadHD OLED display.According to a new report by Nokia Power User, the smartphone is expected to be priced at around EUR 749 in European markets, $699 in the U.S. and Rs 44,999 in India. It must be noted that the Indian pricing is the lowest amongst the three.The smartphone is expected to come with a Quad HD 5.5-inch OLED display, Snapdragon 835 processor, Adreno 540 GPU, a massive 6GB of RAM, a 3,800mAh battery with QuickCharge 4 support, 64/128GB of internal storage and Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box.Also Read: New Nokia 3310 vs old Nokia 3310: How much difference do 17 years make?On the imaging front, the smartphone is expected to come with a 22MP dual lens Carl Zeiss rear camera paired with a 12MP front facing camera for selfies. Additionally, the smartphone is to feature an Iris Scanner like the one found on the recently released Samsung Galaxy S8, a finger print sensor, IP68 dust and water resistance and “Nokia OZO audio” enhancements.Nokia is also rumoured to be working on two more high-end smartphones dubbed the Nokia 8 and Nokia 7 powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 660 chipset which are expected to slot in below the Nokia 9 in Nokia’s smartphone line-up.advertisementThe Nokia 7 is tipped to come with a fullHD display, while the Nokia 8 is expected to feature a QuadHD display. Additionally, both smartphones are expected to sport a metallic unibody design and run on Android Nougat out of the box.Due to Snapdragon 835 procurement issues, the Nokia 9 is not expected to be launched before the third quarter of 2017 – sometime between July and August.
