Source = ETB News: P.T. Ryanair has sacked a pilot who made defamatory claims against the airline on a British television documentary. The documentary has allegedly raised fears over the Irish airline’s fuel and safety policies. “Since Mr Goss’s contribution to the C4 Dispatches programme is contradicted by his prior written confirmations to Ryanair… that he has ‘no concerns’ about Ryanair’s safety, the airline has today terminated Mr Goss’s employment with immediate effect,” a Ryanair spokesperson said. “We look forward to correcting Mr Goss’s defamatory claims in court in due course, but will not be commenting further on this issue which is now the subject of legal proceedings.” The documentary highlighted three occasions on which the low cost carrier’s pilots called in emergency alerts because the aircraft they were flying was low on fuel. Irish airline also files legal proceedings against the former employee. Ryanair terminated pilot John Goss and will file legal proceedings against its former employee, who was featured in Channel 4’s Dispatches programme, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. The programme quoted members of the Ryanair Pilot Group, however, Ryanair has stated that the group was not made up of pilots but was a front for unions not represented at the airline.
